The Forgotten Angel Series - by Merri Bright

What it is…

It’s an absolutely hilarious reverse harem, urban fantasy/paranormal, bully romance trilogy about a beautifully determined soul who never knew she was an angel, and all the wonderful assholes she meets when they finally bring her home. It’s slow burn with fewer steamy scenes than I usually prefer, but it’s plot-based, twisty, and engaging enough to make it well worth the read.

Why I love it…

Who doesn’t love demon babies and glitter!

It’s quirky and hilarious and made me feel shit. Now, normally I hate it when books hurt my feelings, but this one waited a while to do it and did it really well. The feels come from the the reader making assumptions and being wrong as hell, which is also more acceptable to me than when a main character (especially a love interest) breaks my heart for whatever reason. It’s on the lighter side, so it’s a perfectly cozy read. Her writing style is a bit absurdist and the characters are rich and detailed, with interesting arcs and voices distinct enough to tell who’s who without the dialog tags.
